About The Service
Cardiff Council's Specialist Housing service offers a range of accommodation and support services to individuals and families living in Cardiff which include Cardiff supported living, Gypsy and Traveller accommodation, older persons accommodation, managed accommodation Housing First and supported accommodation for young adults, single people and families.
Our services run 24/7, 365 days a year and due to recent changes, our service has expanded to meet the needs of the people accessing our provision and to meet the demands of the service we are recruiting a Workforce Development Officer.
About the job
In this dynamic role, you will be at the forefront of creating and delivering a comprehensive workforce development strategy for both internal and external organisations. Your responsibilities will include identifying platforms to share best practices, developing and communicating a training schedule with managers and partners, and creating an effective induction process for all staff within Specialist Housing. You will regularly review, identify and report on skills gaps, mentor new staff, and work with recruitment agencies to ensure value for money and quality candidates. Additionally, you will collaborate with training providers to source suitable courses cost-effectively, lead the integration of new legislation, create post-specific training plans, review and draft policies and procedures, and arrange conferences and networking events.

We are looking for a positive, dynamic, motivated and creative individual with the ability to foster positive relationships. The ideal candidate will need to have good knowledge and experience of housing legislation, supported accommodation services and providing training.
