The Supported Accommodation and Assessment Section of Cardiff Council through the YP MDT, provide treatment and therapeutic intervention to young people in homelessness who are exposed to high risks of harm and exploitation.
Our services run 24/7 365 days a year.
Due to the Covid19 pandemic, our service has had to make large changes and the successful candidates will contribute to the expansion and further development of the service.
About the job
The Young Person Multi-disciplinary Team (YP MDT) Manager role is an exciting opportunity for committed individual to lead a relatively new service bringing together all frontline agencies involved in service delivery to young homeless individuals.
The key objectives of the role will be to manage a team of Case Co-ordinators and practitioners and be responsible for the delivery of therapeutic interventions to young people (16-25) in homelessness accommodation in Cardiff.
The Case Co-ordinators support vulnerable clients both to access and maintain accommodation with the aim to prepare for independent living working alongside practitioners in providing counselling, substance and MH support etc.
What We Are Looking For From You
We are looking for dynamic, motivated and creative individuals with the ability to foster positive relationships. The post holder will need to have team management experience and the ability to lead and support a busy team.
This is an exciting opportunity and we are looking for a variety of people from various working backgrounds to make a real difference. Proven experience of working with young people with complex behaviours and an understanding of the issues faced by homeless individuals will be an advantage
The working environment can be challenging so the ability to remain calm under pressure will be an advantage. The role will require the successful candidate to support the management team with all aspects of the service.
