Cardiff Youth Justice Service is a multi-agency partnership, working with children and young people aged 10-17; their families; and victims of their behaviour in order to reduce risk of offending and reoffending, protect the public and repair harm.
We are continuing to make huge steps forward as build upon our already successful improvement journey.

About the job
The successful candidate will have oversight, along with other Team managers, of the case management team within the service responsible for assessment and management of young people open to the YJS via Out of Court disposals (Bureau) through to Court intervention and those within the Secure estate.
You will also manage our Court Team focusing on bail support, YJS Court representation and resettlement work.
You will contribute to the implementation of a challenging action plan for continued improvements in service delivery, with a specific focus on improving assessment, strengthening safeguarding knowledge and risk management within the service.
We aim to be a strength based responsive service that works in partnership with children and young people, their families, victims and partners across the Local Authority to provide the very best support, challenge and growth opportunities for young people within our service.
What We Are Looking For From You
The successful candidate will be a qualified Social Work practitioner or qualified Probation Officer with substantial and proven post qualifying experience. You will bring significant knowledge of Youth Justice and the daily complex issues that can arise.
Proven supervisory or management experience within a Youth Justice Service or a closely related field is essential.
