Cardiff Council aims to provide a high quality, accessible housing finance service. The Service currently has a full time vacancy for a Grade 5 Debt Control Officer within the Housing Finance Team.
About the job
The Debt Control Officer will be responsible for the recovery of sundry debts including housing benefit overpayments, former tenant arrears, rechargeable repairs, service charges and other miscellaneous debts.
What We Are Looking For From You
Essential requirements include the ability to communicate well by phone, in person or on writing and being able to deal with difficult conversations with customers.
The Debt Control officer will also need to be able to apply a methodical approach when gathering information, be able to follow complex procedures and have experience of ICT.
