About The Service
The Into Work Advice Service provides support to people across the city who are actively seeking employment or looking to upskill; the team is able to offer support and intensive mentoring through externally funded projects, volunteering opportunities and access to free digital and work skills training courses.
The Into Work Advice Service is made up of a number of different streams including, the Gateway (job club support), Adult Mentoring, Youth Mentoring, Volunteering, Employer Liaison and Work Placement, Adult Learning, Digital Skills, Essential Skills and Quality Support
About the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed individual with excellent customer care skills to join our Into Work Advice Service Team.
The successful applicant will help provide a professional face to face service to give practical help in job seeking skills, job applications and assisting clients to produce relevant, appropriate and professional CV’s to assist clients to get ‘back to work’.
To assist with the provision of a high quality employment service for Cardiff. This will be via a number of channels, including face-to-face, web chat, e-mail and telephone
You will work well in a team, have excellent communication skills and have a flexible approach.
What We Are Looking For From You
You will have experience of working in a Benefits or job seeking related environment.
You will have experience of working with customers on a face-to-face basis and a commitment to providing a high quality customer service. You will have good communication and IT skills and the ability to resolve disputes in a positive and constructive manner.
You will assist with financial and digital inclusion, by providing practical assistance to help customers ‘get on-line’.
You will work well in a team, have excellent communication skills and have a flexible approach.
The ability to speak other languages, in particular Welsh, Somali, Arabic or Polish would be an advantage.
Additional information
The post will be required to work from a number of different locations, including Central Library Hub and other Community Hub buildings on a rota basis. The post also requires evening and weekend work on a rota basis.
This post is temporary until 31st March 2023.
This post is part time and will work 18.5 hours per week.
