About The Service
The Into Work Advice Service provides support to people across the city who are actively seeking employment or looking to upskill; the team is able to offer support and intensive mentoring through externally funded projects, volunterring opportunities and access to free digital and work skills training courses.
The Into Work Advice Service is made up of a number of different streams including the Gateway (job club support), Adult Mentoring, Youth Mentoring, Volunteering, Employer Liaison and Work Placement, Adult Learning Digital Skills, Essential Skills and Quality Support.
About the job
The Assistant Into Work Manager will line manage the teams which provide pathways into work including the Digital Skills Team, Adult Learning Team - Learning for Work, Volunterring, Essential Skills and Employer Liaison.
The role will also support the Into Work Manager with the overal management of the service and assist with funding and statistical returns for the different funding streams to ensure continuity of service. To provide support to the Into Work Manager to lead the service with a stategic direction and ensure that actions fit into the Local Authority, Cardiff Commitment, City Deal, Welsh Government and external funding provider strategies.
The role will work strategically with employers and organisations who offer community benefits, to act as a brokerage support to assist Into Work customers access greater opportunities, including gauranteed interviews, work placements and job vacancies.
The Assistant Into Work Manager will line manage the Digital Skills Team and Adult Learning - Learning for Work teams, which support people looking to ipskill for employment. The role will be responsible for aligning the services to the existing employment provision.
The role will be reposnible for the volunteering provision within the service area, llinking in with other Cardiff Council departments, external volunteering services and overal management for the Volunteering portal, to provide residents of Cardiff with volunteering opportunities.
What We Are Looking For From You
Excellent knowledge of ESF, DWP and Home Office funding. To include performance monitoring and returns required for different funding streams.
Experience of managing a service in a back to work environment, including managing other line managers.
Proven succeessful experience of applying for externally funded programmes.
Experience of running publicity campaigns to raise awareness and engagement in the service.
Experience of multi-agency partnership working, including creating new relationships.
Experience of working with businesses to support people into work.
Experuebce if developing, managing and maintaining online databases.
Proven experience of providing high quality documents and reports for funding providers, including written and financial returns.
Additional information
The post will be required to work from a number of different locations, including County Hall, Central Library Hub and other Community Hub Building.
