An exciting and challenging opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, positive, and committed individual to join the Senior Management Team at Cardiff Councils Sport, Leisure and Development Service within Cardiff International White Water.

About the job

To play a lead role in the effective delivery and management of the CIWW centre, water and land based recreational and professional activities, on and off-site activities.  The role will involve direct supervision of staff (permanent, casual, and freelance), facility and deployment of resources ensuring the safety and standards of all activities.  To be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the facility in accordance with requirements of the CIWW working within budget and providing high standards of service for customers.

What We Are Looking For From You

We are looking for someone with extensive knowledge and experience in the activities that we provide at CIWW and can demonstrate a clear understanding of the Health and Safety requirements associated with the safe delivery of these activities.

 The Post holder should be energetic and enthusiastic, with a positive approach to work and the ability to lead and motivate a team. To be responsible for all activities at CIWW and other sites to include training and assessing of staff and customers, programme development, product development, social media, course programming and equipment forecasting.  To drive sales and income through a wide range of courses and initiatives.

Requests may only be approved by the relevant Director/ Assistant Director/ Chief Officer or senior nominated officer graded no lower than OM2 or in the case of schools-based staff the Headteacher / Governing Body.

 

You will be required to work early mornings, evenings and weekends as required.

 

A full and valid driving licence is essential for this role.
