Cardiff council is looking to recruit a new Business and Development Manager to oversee the Business and Development Team within the Specialist Accommodation and Support Section.  

 

Cardiff, like many other cities across the United Kingdom is currently trying to adapt to the pressures being felt within the Housing sector. The Specialist housing service is facing unprecedented challenges, and we are looking for a candidate to support the senior managers to ensure their services are operating in the most effective way.

 

The Specialist Accommodation Service provides accommodation, advice, and support to vulnerable groups such as families, young people, older persons, adults with learning disabilities and single people with complex needs.

 

The service is substantial and has a wide range of residential buildings across its broad portfolio. The services within the section run 24/7 365 days a year.

About the job

The Business and Development Manager will be responsible to the efficient and effective management in the following areas:

  • General Business management and administration of the section. Working to meet the needs of the service by developing effective systems of work.
  • To manage the sections Performance and monitoring reporting. Working to ensure the service is compliant with its funding requirements and providing recommendations for improvements.

To lead of the sections workforce development requirements. Ensuring the service has access to training, qualifications and other development opportunities relevant to their roles. 

What We Are Looking For From You

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and creative individual with the ability to foster positive relationships. The post holder will need to have management experience and the ability to lead and support a busy service area. 

This is an exciting opportunity, and we are looking for an induvial with a proven experience of business management and development experience.  

An understanding of the issues faced by people with diverse housing needs will be an advantage.

 

The working environment can be challenging so the ability to remain calm under pressure is essential. The role will require the successful candidate to support the Operational Manager with all aspects of the service and wider directorate.
