The Cardiff Commitment are looking for a Business Support Officer whose role will have a focus on supporting the development, maintenance and communications for our ‘What’s Next? Cardiff’ platform. The role will also involve wider admin support across additional projects that sit within the initiatives Learning Pathways priority.

Based at home with some face-to-face time as required at County Hall, Atlantic Wharf, CF10 4UW and other locations across Cardiff.

In this Business Support Officer Role, you will support the Post-16 Officer with the development and maintenance of our ‘What’s Next? Cardiff’ platform. This will include auditing content, adding, removing and organising content, and ensuring that all aspects of the website remain functional. You will also be required, on occasion, to liaise with stakeholders to gather new content and to promote their use of the platform.

You will also support our service by learning to communicate messaging across social media through creating and scheduling posts, re-sharing posts from Cardiff Commitment partners and play a hand towards implementing targeted ad campaigns as part of our social media strategy.

We are looking for a Business Support Officer who is creative, innovative, resourceful and someone who can learn to utilise graphic design platforms such as Canva to brand posts and format documents which can be shared internally and externally to the council. We need you to be an enthusiastic person, motivated and willing to contribute ideas on how to promote the Cardiff Commitment.

You will also provide support by implementing and maintaining administrative systems, and on occasion, you will also be expected to attend meetings in an observational capacity and provide detailed notes for the other members of the team. There is also an opportunity to develop your research skills by identifying new provision and opportunities in education, employment or training for 16-24 year olds in Cardiff.

Whilst we cannot guarantee that the appointed candidate will go on to secure a further role at the end of this initial contract, they will be supported and encouraged to take advantage of the many opportunities available within our organisation, in order to progress their career.
