An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed forward thinking individual to join our dynamic team. You will have a key role in delivering the Cardiff Music Strategy and associated progressive music city projects.

About the job

The post holder will work with the Cardiff music sector to support the development of the music eco-system in Cardiff and the wider music industry to develop and deliver the Cardiff Music Strategy, putting music at the heart of the city’s development. This will require working closely with colleagues in Cardiff Council, the Cardiff Music Board, Cardiff’s music sector, public and private sector partners, industry and music education professionals. This is a public facing role designed to help deliver Cardiff Council’s music city aspirations.

What We Are Looking For From You

The successful candidate will have experience working with the music sector and industry to support, develop and sustain music activity in Cardiff. For this role you will be representing Cardiff Council and the candidate requires a high level of professionalism, diplomacy and sector knowledge. Cardiff Council are undertaking some pioneering music development work and require a committed and talented individual to work as part of an ambitious team, to further develop and deliver music policy and projects putting Cardiff on the map for its approach delivering world class cultural activity.

Additional information

This post is temporary until 31st March 2025, with a view to extending subject to funding.

Internal candidates who wish to apply for this position on a secondment basis must obtain approval prior to application using Form SEC1 (4.C.081). Requests may only be approved by the relevant Director/ Assistant Director/ Chief Officer or senior nominated officer graded no lower than OM2 or in the case of schools based staff the Headteacher / Governing Body.

This post is full time and will work 37.00 hours per week. The Grade 7 salary is £32,020 to £36,298 per annum.

This vacancy is suitable for post share.
