About The Service
Cardiff Bereavement Services is a multi-award winning service which operates the crematorium at Thornhill and 8 cemeteries across Cardiff delivering a high standard of service to the bereaved and service users in a most sensitive of working environments. We are therefore looking for a customer focused individual to join our front line team delivering excellent customer care ensuring a high standard of service is offered to everyone we deal with.
About the job
You will be required to work as part of a dedicated team of three providing an essential weekend service to bereaved families, visitors and funeral directors. This post is part time working two out of three weekends plus on a rota for Bank holidays. Working between 14-19 hours per weekend with pay annualised to 11.4 hours per week.
Main duties include the opening and closing of cemeteries and ancillary buildings at designated opening/closing times, operating a computer based booking system for funeral service times, assisting members of the public with general enquiries, record searches and locating graves.
What We Are Looking For From You
You will have a customer focussed approach and good IT skills to quickly become familiar with a range of software packages and carry out administrative tasks in the office. You must have good communication skills and ability to deal sensitively with our visitors providing excellent customer care.
You must have a full valid driving licence and access to a vehicle to undertake duties of opening and closing of sites, car mileage allowance applies. You will also need to be physically fit in order to open and close cemetery gates and undertake cleaning of the cemeteries public toilets and be comfortable with lone working within a cemetery environment.

The salary shown however relates to 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year and will therefore be pro-rata’d accordingly
