About The Service

Cardiff Contracts and Service Development Team is part of Adults, Housing and Communities. The Team works collaboratively with the social care sector across the city both statutory and third sector.

Cardiff Council's Adult Services Contracts Team have a key role in the overall management and monitoring of the services that support adults with Social Care needs, across the Social Services function.

The key priorities of the Service are:

The social care sector provides the highest quality of social care possible
• To work in partnership with health and social care to monitor the delivery of care and support across the sector.
• To ensure the individuals needs are being met in the way they want to live their life.
• Provide quality and value for money for the Council and the citizens of Cardiff.
The post holder will be part of a team and assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of social care services, monitoring processes and quality systems to ensure that service delivery is effective and efficient in meeting individual and strategic needs.

About the job

The Contract Support Officer will work within the Adult Services Contracts and Commissioning Team.

The role will be responsible for:
• Undertaking regular monitoring and review of contracts and services of Council run and external services to improve outcomes for citizens, their families and carers and participate in the ongoing performance monitoring and reviewing of services.
• Assist in the design, creation and implementation of monitoring and quality assurance framework for social care.
• To be a key contact with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Providers, Service Users, Social Workers, Care Inspectorate Wales, Police, Health) to ensure contractual compliance and best outcomes are assured for the residents of Cardiff and the Local Authority.
• Contribute to the achievement of the strategic and operational objectives of the Council and Social Services priorities.

We are looking for an individual who is committed to delivering exceptional public services in Cardiff, and who has some knowledge of the Social Care sector including contract monitoring experience.

The post holder will have experience in contract monitoring and performance management, and an understanding of the social care commissioning, procurement and legislation.
