Our HARBOUR AUTHORITY, PARKS AND VISIT CARDIFF Teams are looking to employ a Corporate Apprentice (Level 3) based at Queen Alexandra House, CF10 4LY, Bute Park Education Centre, CF10 3DX and County Hall CF10 4LY to contribute to our Service helping us to deliver community liaison projects and events as well as marketing of key venues and destination marketing around Cardiff Bay, Flat Holm, Bute Park and visitors to Cardiff to maximise the tourism and visitor offer for the economic benefit of Cardiff. The postholder will also gain valuable experience in other Parks, Leisure and Sport as assistance is required.

This role may involve home working at times but the main base for the role will be at the Harbour and/or Bute Park offices and County Hall/Cardiff Castle.

About the job

In this Corporate Apprentice (Level 3) role you will learn to: support the Harbour Authority, Bute Park and Visit Cardiff marketing teams, as well as other teams as required, to support the delivery of destination marketing, events and projects that will raise the profile of venues including Flat Holm, Bute Park, Cardiff Barrage, Cardiff Wetlands, Cardiff Castle and Cardiff as a destination to directly influence the number of visitors and income generated, thus contributing to the economic impact of the city.

This will include learning to: use the principles of social media to deliver digital and social media advertising and promotion to increase our venues footfall and income; assist with plans and delivery of destination marketing events; an introduction to search engine and content management to market a range of venues in Cardiff; collect and organise market research data; contribute to measuring market performance; working with others in a business environment; learning to provide excellent customer service skills by telephone, email or face to face; working digitally to provide an efficient and effective service and respond to customer enquiries; undertake general office administration in a digital environment; use various software applications such as Word, Excel and design software

Full training will be provided and our Teams will help and encourage you to develop in the role and you will be encouraged to take on a variety of duties. You will receive supervision and on the job training and will have a named mentor to support you to deliver an efficient and effective service in a positive, customer-focused manner.

The Corporate Apprentice & Trainee Scheme also provides opportunities to enhance your transferrable skills to help support your career progression.

Many of our teams have moved to online and homeworking and you will be encouraged to develop the skills to support this. Where homeworking is required, you will be given the necessary equipment however, you will need to arrange your own internet connectivity (some support may be available to help with this).

There may be a need for some occasional evening and weekend working
