You will earn £24,309 a year working full time (37 hour a week), equivalent to £12.60 per hour pro rata, as we are a Voluntary Living Wage employer. The Living Wage is reviewed each year and Cardiff Council reserves the right to make changes to, or remove, the Living Wage Supplement.
Our Responsive Repairs Team is looking to employ a Corporate Trade Apprentice (Level 3) in Plastering, based County Hall, Atlantic Wharf, Cardiff CF10 4UW, to contribute to our Service helping us to deliver a maintenance service to Council dwellings across Cardiff.

In this Corporate Trade Apprentice (Level 3) role you will:
- develop skills that will support you with your future career
- be encouraged to take on a wide range of jobs.
- receive supervision, on the job training and support from an experienced Tradesperson within the team
To support your development, you will also undertake a Welsh Government Apprenticeship Framework Qualification in Plastering at Level 3 in the role and will receive on the job training and supervision to help you deliver an efficient and effective service in a positive and customer focussed manner. You will also be supported by a named mentor who will encourage you to develop a range of transferrable skills to support your career progression.

In order to be eligible to apply for this role the applicant will need to be Level 2 qualified in Plastering before September 2025, ready to enrol on the Level 3 course.
As a Corporate Apprentice you will gain valuable experience working for Cardiff - the largest Council in Wales. Although we cannot guarantee that you will go on to secure a further role at the end of the initial contract, you will be supported and encouraged to take advantage of the many opportunities available within our organisation to help progress your career.

This post will require you to attend Coleg Y Cymoedd, Ystrad Mynach Campus for completion of the Level 3 Apprenticeship in Plastering (one day per week).
