Our Business Support Team is looking to employ a Corporate Apprentice (Level 3) Project Administration Officer to support our One Planet Cardiff project, based at County Hall (CF10 4UW).

This role will help co-ordinate, support and monitor climate change response activity across the council. You will engage with a wide range of partners both within and outside of the council, supporting the council’s work in tackling the greatest challenge facing us all. You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills as well becoming a clear advocate for tackling the impacts and causes of climate change.

This role will involve home working and whilst team members are always available you will need to be able to also work independently.

You can apply for this role if you have not already gained the apprenticeship qualification (or NVQ) offered in this role, at the same Level or higher.

 

Graduates are eligible to apply for Apprenticeship roles offering a minimum of a Level 3 Apprenticeship Qualification and provided their degree is in a different subject.

About the job

In this Corporate Apprentice (Level 3) Project Administration role you will learn to undertake the following duties by the end of the apprenticeship period:

  • Work in partnership with a range of services and organisations
  • Undertake research and analysis of business options
  • Understand the causes and impacts of climate change in delivering services
  • Work as part of team delivering change in via hybrid working arrangements
  • Organise, record and support effective online and in person meetings
  • Follow effective and efficient business and governance processes
  • Work with teams to assist with problem solving and contribute to new business approaches and process development
  • Use a range of administrative software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Manage your time effectively.

Full training will be provided and our Team will help and encourage you to develop in the role and you will be encouraged to take on a variety of duties. You will receive supervision and on the job training and will have a named mentor to support you to deliver an efficient and effective service in a positive, customer-focused manner.

The Corporate Apprentice & Trainee Scheme also provides opportunities to enhance your transferrable skills to help support your career progression.

Many of our teams have moved to online and homeworking working and you will be encouraged to develop the skills to support this. Where homeworking is required, you will be given the necessary equipment however, you will need to arrange your own internet connectivity (some support may be available to help with this).

The team works in a hybrid way with 1 or 2 days a week in the office for the remainder of the working week team members can opt to work from home or the office base.
