Both the Building Support Team and Cleaning Services Team form part of the County Estates function within the Economic Development Directorate.
The Building Support Team is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Council’s core buildings including County Hall and City Hall, as well at the Brindley Road and Coleridge Road depots.
The Cleaning Team is responsible for the cleaning of Council buildings, including a large number of schools, and also other support functions including the preparation and issue of Council ID cards.
As a result of recent restructure, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to lead, manage and develop the Building Support and Cleaning Services Teams.
About the job
Reporting to an Operational Manager, the primary purposes of the role are to:
- ensure the effective and efficient management of County Estates managed properties including the Corporate Buildings;
- manage the Corporate Hybrid Working Strategy and implement strategic principles concerning accommodation and technology to fulfil the needs of services using core office space, and
- ensure the effective and efficient cleaning of corporate buildings and schools signed into the Cleaning SLA
What We Are Looking For From You
We are looking for a motivated individual with appropriate skills and experience in the line management of teams responsible for the day-to-day management of office type buildings.
The successful candidate will also have:
- Good experience in the management of front line teams;
- Good knowledge of responsive and planned building maintenance principles;
- Good knowledge of the delivery of cleaning services in non-domestic buildings
- Practical experience of risk identification and management, particularly those of a health and safety nature;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and
- Strong personal organisational skills with an ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload within a constantly changing environment.
