Cardiff Council is looking for an enthusiastic Public Awareness Officer to primarily lead on public engagement to encourage voter registration and participation to residents in the City of Cardiff.
About the job
You will play a key role in producing and maintaining an Engagement Strategy and Registration Plan and identify under registered groups to produce targeted campaigns. You will network with internal and external partners to promote registration, voting options and elections.
What We Are Looking For From You
The successful applicant will have proven experience in working with internal and external stakeholders and an aptitude for developing links with stakeholders in the community to encourage greater democratic participation. You should be familiar with the work of electoral services and elections.
The post requires working extended hours, weekends and bank holidays, during periods leading up to elections.

This post is temporary to provide maternity cover for the substantive post holder and is anticipated to last until 9th February 2025.

The successful applicant will be able to work flexibly and in an agile way, with the ability to choose to work from home, or the office, outside of an election period and in line with role requirements.
This vacancy is suitable for post share subject to there being another suitably qualified and experienced employee/candidate who wishes to post share.
