About The Service
The Fostering Service is a dedicated team responsible for the recruitment, retention and supervision of our in house foster carers. A key priority is the continued increase in recruitment, to respond to the needs of our Children Looked After. This is an exciting time in the service with opportunity to develop innovative solutions to better meet the needs of our children and support our growing in house service.
The service is also responsible for Supported Lodgings and When Im Ready schemes.
About the job
As Service Manager you will actively manage, lead and promote the Fostering Service, ensuring the growth of in-house Foster Carers, Supported Lodgings and When Im Ready provision through focussed and targeted recruitment and retention activity. To manage the operational activity of the Service, embedding best practice throughout. To promote professional standards by developing outcome-focused teams that understand their contribution to the Service and the wider success of the Childrens Services.
The suitable applicant must demonstrate that they meet the requirements for a Grade 10 Fostering Service Manager as described in the Job Description and Person Specification.
What We Are Looking For From You
We are looking for an individual with strong leadership skills to lead and motivate staff. The post holder will be solution focused and have experience of working in a fostering service.
You will be responsible for service delivery, the development of a range of policy and procedures to enable the team to deliver a high standard of service to our carers. You will have experience of managing change with the ability to challenge mediocrity.
Applications are welcomed from candidates with a Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification, with post qualification experience of working as a social worker in Children’s Social Care and who are registered with Social Care Wales.
