About the service
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed individual to join the Partnership Delivery Team to oversee the commissioning of key services to support the Council’s strategic response to homelessness and to manage the Team responsible for administering a range of Welsh Government housing-related support grants.
The wider Partnership Delivery Team manage a range of other funding including Welsh Government grants such as the Violence against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (VAWDASV) Grant and the Children and Communities Grant as well as the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund.
About the job
The successful applicant will oversee the planning, coordination and delivery of a range of commissioned services, including consultation with providers, developing the service specifications and monitoring requirements, tendering processes and any subsequent transition arrangements.
A key element of the role is to ensure financial and project oversight, ensuring funding is maximised and targeted towards priority schemes for the city. The successful applicant will work proactively in developing and maintaining effective joint working arrangements alongside other managers within a range of service areas in the Council, and between a variety of other statutory, third sector and business partners across Cardiff.
As part of the transformation agenda the post holder will also assist in the wider range of operational planning, development and implementation of key work programmes that support the strategic direction of the Council’s Corporate plan.
What we are looking for from you
You will have previous experience of partnership working, demonstrating an understanding of project management principles as well as experience of financial management and accountability and also commissioning and procurement activity. The successful applicant will need to have experience of working with new technology and have excellent digital skills. You will need to work well within a team and be able to work on your own initiative.
You will have experience of managing staff and resources and demonstrate the ability to deliver and monitor change effectively and to lead and motivate others. The role will involve working with internal and external partners to ensure activity is delivered successfully, therefore excellent communication and organisational skills are essential.
Additional Information
The post is temporary until 31st March 2025, Initially.
