About The Service

Housing Options provides advice and assistance under the Council’s corporate duty to help clients who are homeless.  The service provides assistance to vulnerable people when they are at greatest need.

About the job

Assessment Officers will complete homeless assessments on an emergency basis, and complete referrals for accommodation as appropriate.

The post holder will be expected to carry out investigations and assessments on clients who present as homeless on the day, and provide bespoke housing advice and solutions on an individual basis.

What We Are Looking For From You

Experience of working with the public, in a housing related environment will be an advantage. You will need the skills to cope under pressure in a busy and challenging environment.

You may be required to work until 19:00 hours to meet the demands of a very busy service.
