About The Service
As this role is part of a restructure prior consideration will be given to Cardiff Council employees including CardiffWorks employees and other agency workers working for the council.
Following the Covid19 pandemic the Council has expanded it homeless accommodation and support services significantly. The newly formed Supported Accommodation and Assessment section is made of the following Services:
- Accommodation Services for Individuals and those with Complex needs
- Accommodation and Support Services for families and vulnerable persons.
- Assessment Centre, inducing the homeless Multi-disciplinary team and support services for individuals with complex needs.
- Housing-led Services
- Gypsy-Traveller sites
The service runs across a 24 hour period 365 days a year.
We are recruiting for several Service Managers posts as part of this recruitment drive. Due to the scale of change within the area this is an exciting time to join the service as we move forward with an ambitious plan to improve services for those who need them.
About the job
The post holder will be responsible for the operational delivery of the Housing Led Service and will have line management responsibility for a staff team across the councils Housing- First and SAIL projects.
The Housing-Led Service Manager will be responsible for:
Managing and co-ordinate the delivery of the services, ensuring that individuals receive consistent and quality support from the service.
To coordinate, manage and develop Housing-first services, ensuring effective service delivery and that projects deliver on agreed outcomes.
To ensure effective management of the SAIL scheme. Ensuring complex clients without housing options have access to long-term housing from council or social landlord stock outside of the normal allocations process.
To develop and maintain positive working relationships with local landlords and letting agents to ensure adequate supply of private rented accommodation to meet the needs of the projects. To ensure all accommodation is safe and affordable.
To actively contribute to the development of the whole section and homelessness Service.
What We Are Looking For From You
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate experience of delivering Housing-led services and demonstrate and sound understanding of the principles of Housing first.
You will be a driven person, showing a commitment to the service with the ability to foster positive relationships with partner organisations.
Previous experience of working within the private rented Sector and sourcing accommodation would be an advantage to this role.
The post holder will be expected to maintain and develop their knowledge regarding legislation and introduce new initiatives and procedures to drive forward standards across the service.

This role maybe required to have on call responsibilities with prior agreement.
Some weekend and night work may be required with prior agreement.
