Estate Services is currently seeking a diligent individual to join us on secondment for up to a year to cover maternity leave as a Local Action Manager. In this role, you will lead teams to improve neighbourhoods by working directly with residents where they live.

About the job

As the Local Action Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing Local Action Teams in their day-to-day operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services. This includes removing rubbish and waste from gardens, cutting back overgrowth, and facilitating local events. You will provide advice and support to residents, encourage partnership working with external and voluntary organisations, and collaborate with elected members. Building relationships and joint working with others who share a similar agenda to improve neighbourhoods will be key to making a difference in the community.

What We Are Looking For From You

We are seeking a candidate who can:

  • Foster strong partnerships with local action groups, volunteers, and other community organisations to promote collaborative efforts.
  • Organise and participate in engagement activities to build and maintain positive working relationships within the community.
  • Ensure all services are delivered within budget, using resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide regular reports and statistics to senior management on service delivery and resource use.
  • Conduct site inspections to investigate, resolve, and discuss issues with tenants, councillors, and other agencies.
  • Actively promote community engagement through these interactions.
  • Demonstrate proven experience in community engagement, housing management, or a related field.
  • Exhibit strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Possess excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Have knowledge of budget management, Health and Safety regulations, and quality assurance processes.
  • Show the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.

Additional information

This post is temporary until 30th January 2026 to cover maternity leave.
