About The Service

Few roles offer the opportunity to communicate the vision and actions that are shaping a whole 'new' region.
But then, Cardiff Capital Region is unlike any other organisation - just as you are unlike most other Marketing and Communications Leads.

The CCR City Deal was born through the coming together of the ten unitary authorities of south east Wales: home to a 1.5 million population and 50% of the economic output of Wales - nurtured by a rich partnership network, an enduring sense of purpose and a passionate belief that this extraordinary region can succeed on the domestic and world stage.

Over four momentous years, our collaborative approach across both priority sectors and the traditional foundational economy have been the catalyst for significant achievements. The lessons learned? That constant evolution is the best way to meet the socio-economic challenges (and opportunities) now upon us - witnessed in our own evolution from City Deal to a multi-partner pioneer region, widening our remit to deliver greater economic growth and inclusive prosperity to every household, community and enterprise on a regional scale.

About the job

The role and purpose of Marketing and Communications is critical to our ability to; leverage the opportunities for inward / co-investment, build confidence across our stakeholders that we can be trusted to deliver positive outcomes, engage, enthuse and enlighten our audiences (businesses/ communities/ general public/ stakeholders/ employees) and, develop a positive brand reputation for delivery and impact. This will need to be done through; the execution of a marketing strategy and plan that is appreciative of the nuances of the evolving role of the CCR and the political / economic and social sensitivities that characterise the environment and, the delivery of a tactical plan that includes a continuous programme of; compelling, engaging, authoritative, authentic and influential content, extensive internal and external stakeholder influencing combined with pro-active media / channel management.

What We Are Looking For From You

And You? You’re very different too. You have the content strategy skills to shape the story for all our priorities, programmes and deliverables - and the intellect to create an all-encompassing stakeholder/investor engagement plan. You bring the imagination to devise an engaging internal communications plan - and the finger on the pulse to optimise all digital channels. You possess the agility to handle PR and Media - and the commerciality to maximise the input of external agencies, as well as your own small team. Above all, you’re a politically sensitive professional who understands that the marketing drum can create an inclusive beat taken from many different tunes - a consummate communicator who appreciates that an entity built on different people with different views can convey rainbows from shades of grey. And you’ll bring this breadth of personality and thinking to CCR every day, evolving the organisational and service brands of an entity that’s growing in stature, both nationally and internationally.

A thinker and a doer. A talker and a wordsmith. An individual and a team player. A master of clarity and nuance. If that’s You, come and join Us, in a role that offers an excellent career package, including the option of home working as well as enjoying office spaces across the region.
