There are 2 x posts Sitting within the Planning, Transport & Environment Directorate, The Transportation Programme Team are responsible for delivering key programmes and projects associated with the Council’s White Paper Transport Vision. Projects include city centre development, cycleways, cycle parking, bus priority, taxi strategy and Cardiff CrossRail.
About the job
As a Project Officer in the Transportation Programme Team, you will support the development and administration of transport projects. In an exciting and transformational period for the City’s transport network, you will be placed at the heart of moving things to the next level, you will work with the team to take things forward and build upon some of the innovative schemes already delivered. You will work on individual projects within the transport programme and gain experience of supporting key aspects of the project lifecycle.
You will be responsible for supporting Project Managers, working on consultations and using project support tools such as programmes, risk registers and action registers to help drive projects forward. Projects may include City Centre Transport Projects, Public Realm Projects, Cycleways, Cycle Parking, Bus Priority Schemes, Taxi Projects and general Transport Projects.
What We Are Looking For From You
You will have experience of working on projects from start to finish. A good knowledge of Cardiff’s transport infrastructure and landscape is beneficial. You will also have great organisational skills, experience of managing contracts and a good level of stakeholder management experience.
