An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Adults, Housing & Communities directorate for an Operational Manager to lead and manage Cardiff Council’s supported accommodation and outreach services. The post holder will be responsible for a wide range of accommodation and support services, including outreach support services, hostel and supported accommodation provision and gypsy and traveller services.
About the job
The post holder will be responsible for:
- the development and management of supported accommodation and assessment services for Cardiff.
- the delivery of roughsleeping strategies, incuding proactive work to reduce the numbers rough sleeping in the city through an assetive and multiagency outreach approach.
- the development and delivery of a multi disciplinary approach to services for vulnerable homeless people and those with complex suport needs.
- the direct delivery of the council’s outreach, support and specialist accommodation services for both single people and families.
- services to the gypsy and traveller community, including management of gypsy traveller sites.
What We Are Looking For From You
Extensive knowledge and understanding of best practice in the area of supported accommodation, with an expert knowledge of the complex underlying factors that lead to rough sleeping.
Extensive experience of delivering trauma informed hostel and supported accommodation services and of managing person centred support, to clients with complex and co-occurring support needs.
The right individual will have proven ability to review best practice and develop clear evidenced based proposals for change in order to inform strategy and policy development and future service delivery.
The successful candidate will demonstrate clear leadership skills and have the ability to work in partnership across of range of organisations, including joint management of teams, demonstrating a clear personal commitment to delivering excellent services that meet the needs of vulnerable people.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a lead role in Cardiff’s approach to homelessness through effective assessment of need and provision of appropriate trauma informed services.
