About The Service

As part of the ongoing investment in Childrens Services in Cardiff this post has been created to drive forward the strategic and operational arrangements across the spectrum of assessment and care planning within our locality teams including our services to children with additional health and complex needs.

 

About the job

The post holder will line manage 4 Operational Managers (grade 2) who themselves have responsibility for all aspects of care planning from Care and support through to adoption and leaving care. This post forms part of the larger management team in children’s services and will report directly to the director for childrens services.

This is an exciting time to join our service which is striving to ensure that individuals, their families and communities are at the heart of everything we do.

We are continuing to develop a strengths-based, rights-based and trauma informed approach and are in the process of realigning our services with local communities and key statutory partners.

What We Are Looking For From You

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate considerable management experience of practicing and managing within children’s services with specific reference to managing cases within the court arena and will be responsible for ensuring an excellent standard of work practice exists across their teams and the wider service area.

The post holder will be expected to maintain and develop their knowledge regarding legislation, research, practice developments, new initiatives, and procedures and to use this knowledge to drive forward standards across the service.
