At Cardiff Council’s Education Catering Service, we believe that every child deserves access to nutritious, delicious meals that fuel their learning and growth. Our vision is to enhance the educational experience of children and young people across Cardiff by ensuring they receive the best possible mealtime experience.

 

As the Performance Management and Compliance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with all food and other legislation, regulations, standards, and statutory and Council-wide processes. You will support the development of a performance management culture within Education Catering, driving service improvement and enhanced accountability.

 

As a Performance Management and Compliance Officer, you will develop and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with legislative and policy requirements through systematic audits. You will support the development and administration of performance management systems, manage training courses for staff induction, food safety, and nutritional compliance, and foster strong relationships with school leaders and stakeholders. Additionally, you will report on performance, quality, and compliance issues, and support the development of strategic plans to align with the Directorate Delivery Plan.

What We Are Looking For From You

We are seeking someone with proven experience in performance management and compliance, preferably within the food service or education sector. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a genuine passion for improving the lives of children and young people. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to develop and implement effective strategies.
