About The Service

Cardiff Council aims to provide a high quality, accessible service whilst carrying out its functions to maintain the councils 13,808 domestic properties and approximately 9 supported accommodation buildings, it is also responsible for 9 high-rise blocks of flats as well as Community Living Complexes.

There is currently a vacancy for Plant and Transport Co-ordinator, within the Responsive Repairs Unit. 

About the job

The main function of the role is to ensure repairs to Council owned properties throughout the City are carried out with the correct plant items which are suitable for the task and in good order.

To liaise with other departments to ensure transport issues are resolved and vehicles are utilised efficiently.  Also, to communicate effectively with the workforce within the Responsive Repairs Unit to ensure efficient and effective use of the council vehicles and plant equipment.

To ensure compliance with all required legislative, statutory, and council policies and procedures. As well as ensuring that all equipment, materials, and stock is well maintained and in good condition.

What We Are Looking For From You

You must demonstrate experience and knowledge in the service and maintenance of plant and small tools.  Have the ability to use and update plant data base systems.

Be organised and have the ability to co-ordinate the use of plant and transport in an efficient and effective manner to ensure the day-to-day business needs are met.

You should also have the ability to work as part of a team, be able to follow procedures and have good communication skills in order to provide an effective service for the unit.
