This role forms part of a Community Safety Team which seeks to address the crime and anti-social behaviour issues faced across Cardiff. This team supports the Community Safety Partnership identified priorities which include; street based lifestyles and substance misuse, violence prevention, community based problem solving, community cohesion and contextual safeguarding.
This role will assist the Community Safety Team and Partnership by developing, analysing and monitoring an evidence based approach to tackling community safety issues.
The day-to-day responsibilities of the post will include working with the Project Mangers to develop analytical products and seek to enhance these with partnership data and intelligence. Building effective information sharing opportunities with partnership working is key to the understanding and tackling the local issues.
This is an exciting and challenging role, working in a fast paced environment, which responds to complex and persistent issues which affect the communities of Cardiff.

This is a role within a growing team that is taking on challenging priorities whilst continuing to make considerable differences in tackling crime and anti-social behaviour with partners.
The role will develop performance dashboards, write detailed reports and present high level briefings on community safety issues. It is important this role is able to monitor and evaluate our partnership work and support the team by providing evidence based recommendations.
You will work with statutory and non-statutory partners to develop effective problem solving models, frameworks, toolkits, and performance monitoring dashboards, which are key to providing direction and evaluating our outcomes.

What We Are Looking For From You
We are looking for someone with knowledge of community safety related issues and a passion to make a difference. The role requires experience of undertaking research and analysis with complex data sources, and presenting in a format which can inform partnership working.
A high level of knowledge in using Excel to analyse and present information is essential. Experience of using Power BI would or other mapping software who be advantageous.
You will have experience of working with other partners, so you will know first-hand how to build successful relationships, in order to enhance information sharing opportunities.
You must be an enthusiastic problem solver with a can-do attitude. You will be excellent communicator who is confident to lead discussions, present information, and write briefings to various senior meetings, providing recommendations to assist decision making.

This post is temporary until 31st March 2026.
