About The Service

Cardiff Council is a local government organisation responsible for delivering over 700 different services to our citizens, visitors and businesses across Cardiff.

Cardiff Bereavement Services operates a crematorium and 7 cemeteries across Cardiff delivering a high standard of service to the bereaved and service users in a most sensitive working environment. The registration and memorial team are based at Thornhill Crematorium enquiries office and customer service is at the heart of what we do. We are therefore looking for a customer focused individual to join our front line team in the delivery of exceptional customer care and providing advice on all aspects of the facilities, options and services available.

About the job

You will be responsible for management of a busy front line administration office and its registration, memorial and administration team. You will be dealing with the bereaved advising on the facilities and options available and liaising with funeral directors and other stakeholders.

You will be responsible for ensuring the daily registration of all cremations, burials and exhumations is carried out in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Responsible for record management and financial accounting process. You will be a key member of the Bereavement Management structure and your participation will be instrumental in identifying ways to develop, improve and enhance the services provided to the bereaved and shaping various strategies
