About The Service
The Directorate of Adults, Housing & Communities in Cardiff Council.
As a Directorate, we recognise that social workers are skilled professionals who make a real and material difference to people’s lives every day. We want to develop our services and strengthen our approach to social work practice in Cardiff.
Cardiff Alcohol and Drug Team is located in Adult Social Services. The Team works collaboratively with a number of partner substance misuse agencies in the City both statutory and third sector.
The team is made up of Social Workers, a Social Work Assistant and support workers. We undertake assessments with individuals who misuse substances: commission outcome-focused care and support packages and undertake direct work with individuals. We are committed to Strengths-Based Social Work Practice and working collaboratively with individuals to reduce harmful substance misuse and maximise their independence.
