About The Service

The Cardiff and Vale Joint Equipment Service (JES) Team is looking to employ a Storekeeper based at our warehouse, Units 2 & 3 Lambourne Crescent, Cardiff Business Park, Llanishen, Cardiff CF14 5GF.

The Council Joint Equipment Service team provides equipment to people within Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. We order, deliver, collect and maintain a wide range of mobility aids to help people live as independently as possible within their own homes.
Equipment is ordered by health care professionals, such as District Nurses, Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapists and includes a wide range items from specialist beds and hoists to bathing equipment and seating and walking equipment used by children is schools.

The successful applicant will work as part of a team to deliver a first class service.

About the job

You will form part of the existing JES warehouse team supporting the logistical element of the service, including goods receipt, processing purchase orders, driving forklift, picking goods for delivery etc. All requests for delivery/installation are instigated by a clinical team member after an assessment of the clients needs, an order for delivery is then processed by the JES admin team and picked by the warehouse team for delivery by an in-house team of installers.

Please note that the service core hours are 8am – 4pm Monday – Thursday and 8am – 3:30pm on Friday.

This position is part time for 22.5 hrs per week.

What We Are Looking For From You

The position is a physically demanding one and you will need to be capable of carrying out a wide range of manual handling activities (lifting, pulling, pushing etc.).

All work schedules are managed with the use of handheld devices so an understanding of mobile technology/apps is essential. A full driving licence would be advantageous as there may be occasions when the Storekeeper is asked to support the in house installation team.

Additional information

This post is part time and will work 22.5 hours per week on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
