About the Service

The Revenues Section are responsible for the administration and collection of Council Tax, Non-Domestic Rates and Accounts Receivable within Cardiff which help financially support vital Council services and facilities. The total value of these being in excess of £700 million per annum.

 

We are continually striving to ensure staff are equipped to perform their jobs efficiently and effectively, providing excellent customer service whilst improving collection rates.

About the Job

This exciting permanent post is suitable for agile working, combining home and office working with occasional visits to Council premises required to facilitate training courses.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and developing training courses for both new and existing staff across a number of service areas, with the focus being on Council Tax and the associated systems used; these being Civica W360 document imaging system and the Northgate administration system.

 

They will also take the lead with complaints received against the service, being responsible for ensuring complaints are acknowledged and recorded, facilitating the investigation of complaints in accordance with the corporate complaints procedure and providing full responses.

 

Complaints provide valuable feedback and are viewed by our staff as a positive opportunity to learn from experiences in order to drive continual organisational improvement and prevent reoccurrence of issues. The successful candidate will therefore also be responsible for the provision of advice and recommendations necessary for service improvement.

You will be comfortable with driving improvements and using technology to facilitate this.
