About the service

Cardiff Youth Service offers a range of provisions across the city for young people aged 11-25.

Cardiff Youth Service consists of a talented and enthusiastic team of professional youth workers & youth support workers who operate across the city. This set up consists of youth centres, specialist provisions, youth mentoring and street based youth work teams that all provide a wide variety of creative opportunities and experiences that encourage the participation and development of young people in communities.

Cardiff Youth Service promotes a strong connection between targeted and universal youth work that ensures there is a consistent offer of support to young people when they need it.

About the job

Provision base: Active Involvement Team
Days/Times: evenings and weekends required

The post holder will establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships with young people and engage them in developing resource for curriculum development. The successful candidate will co-ordinate and monitor the MindHub website ensuring information is up to date and relevant.

Due to the nature of youth work, and supporting a young person led programme, there will be a requirement to support events/residential/visits outside of the hours set. These will be negotiated as needed

The post holder will be responsible for supporting young people to develop holistically, working with them to facilitate their personal, social and educational development, to enable them to develop their voice, influence and place in society and to reach their full potential.

We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic youth workers who will encourage creativity and innovation to inspire and motivate young people on a daily basis.

We are looking for youth workers who have positive attitudes and resilience to be able to impact positively on the lives of young people.

The successful candidate will hold a relevant professional qualification in youth work and have a proven track record of working with young people to secure positive outcomes.

This post will be based with the Active Involvement Team but will be required to work throughout the city promoting resource and developing curriculum content.

This post is subject to Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced checks; this post is funded until 31st March subject to further funding.
