Flat Holm, owned and managed by Cardiff Council is a nature reserve, heritage site and visitor attraction, which sits within the Economic Development Directorate. 

About the job

An excellent opportunity exists to help shape the future of Cardiff’s very own island, Flat Holm, just 5 miles off the coast. The Flat Holm Partnership led by Cardiff Council and supported by RSPB Cymru and Flat Holm Society, as well as other partners has been granted Heritage Lottery Funding of £698k towards a Heritage and Nature Restoration Project and an enthusiastic and committed individual is required to join a multi-disciplinary team to deliver the projects education and community engagement objectives. 

What We Are Looking For From You

You will be an effective communicator with excellent organisational skills and be able to demonstrate experience delivering community engagement and events with high profile, grant funded projects.  The ability to develop and manage diverse education and community engagement activities and volunteer training in a challenging environment is essential.

Possession of a qualification in teaching, adult education, training or related discipline would be advantageous as would be an appreciation and experience of the heritage and nature conservation environment.

This post is part time and will work 29.6 hours per week. The salary shown however relates to 37 hours per week and will therefore be pro-rata’d accordingly.

This post is temporary until 1st July 2024.
