About The Service

Bryn y Deryn is currently a KS4 Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) for 90 learners who have behavioural, emotional, mental health and social difficulties. We are expanding in September – Do you want to be part of this exciting new offer?

We are looking to recruit four Assistant Headteachers for our new KS3 provision that will cater for an additional 90 learners.

 

About the job

Bryn y Deryn provides education and wellbeing for learners with challenging behavioural, emotional and social difficulties. Carnegie Centre provides education and wellbeing for learners with anxiety-based school avoidance. High quality learning and excellent care, support and guidance are at the heart of our school. As is a commitment to trauma informed approaches.

Two of these roles will be based at the Key Stage 3 provision, which is temporarily going to be located at Fitzalan High School. Two will be at our existing Key Stage 4 school based in Mynachdy.

 

What We Are Looking For From You

The successful applicant will work as part of a team and have some previous experience of working with learners who have behaviour social and mental health problems and be able to empathise with pupils’ difficulties. They will be able to provide strategic direction, manage school resource, leading teaching and learning, secure accountability and develop opportunities for working with others.

Additional information

Leadership pay scale 6-10 (£51,729 - £57,133 per annum)
