An exciting and interesting opportunity has arisen within Cardiff Market for a Market Porter/Security Assistant.
About the job
The key role of the post will be to provide an efficient and high quality cleaning and security role within Cardiff Market. You will be responsible for a broad range of duties including opening and closing of the property, ensuring that all security and health and safety protocols are followed, ensuring that the market is kept to a high standard of cleanliness, managing the tenants waste (this will involve some heavy lifting and operating machinery on a regular basis) and ensuring market byelaws are adhered to.
The person would be expected to be friendly and approachable and to liaise with tenants, members of the public and contractors on a daily basis.
An aspect of the role includes providing security within the Market and to maintain a visible presence within the building.
The ability to work on a rota basis with the other porters is required, working 37 hours over 5 days, this will include weekends and occasional Bank Holidays as necessary.
What We Are Looking For From You
Experience of working within a customer services and/or building maintenance/cleaning environment, ability to communicate effectively, ability to work off own initiative when required as well as part of a team. Willingness to work overtime when required.
