We are a supportive, inclusive Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) that provides a safe and nurturing space for learners who require an alternative to mainstream education. Our aim is to offer a tailored, engaging learning experience, supporting every learner to overcome barriers to learning and realise their full potential.

About the job

We’re looking for a passionate, flexible teacher who:

  • Is excited by the challenge of teaching across the breadth of the Curriculum for Wales.
  • Thrives in an environment where no two days are the same and is able to think on their feet.
  • Can deliver engaging, creative lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with additional learning needs.
  • Is adaptable and able to work effectively as part of a team, ensuring students receive the support they need.
  • Has the ability to manage challenging behaviour and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Demonstrates a genuine passion for making a real difference in the lives of young learners.

 

What We Are Looking For From You

As a teacher at our PRU, you will:

  • Deliver lessons across a wide range of subjects, in line with the Curriculum for Wales, ensuring they are engaging and accessible for all learners.
  • Create a stimulating and positive learning environment where every learner feels valued and motivated to learn.
  • Work closely with our team of teaching assistants and support staff to ensure that each learner’s individual needs are met.
  • Adapt your teaching methods and resources on a daily basis, responding to the dynamic needs of the learners.
  • Foster a safe and supportive classroom atmosphere, promoting respect, teamwork, and personal growth.
  • Play a key role in tracking learners’ progress and developing strategies to support their academic and personal development.

Salary: Main Pay Scale - Upper Pay Scale (£32,433 - £49,944) + ALN Allowance (£2,728 - £5,379)
