About The Service

The post sits within the ICT Service, and is part of the Council’s Customer and Digital Services Directorate.

 

The ICT Service primary functions are:

• to provide high quality IT systems, support and maintenance across the organisation

• to provide strategic advice and guidance to the service areas and their directorates

• to contribute to the delivery of the Council’s Digital First approach set out in the Capital Ambition programme.

About the job

Be the main point of contact for the Council in relation to ICT Business Continuity requirements, take personal responsibility to stay up to date with any changes in the authorities technology landscape and ensure that the ICT Business Continuity plan is up to date and contains all relevant information associated with current and emerging requirements

 

What We Are Looking For From You

Proactively review, plan and manage ICT Business Continuity in line with the council’s overall Business Continuity Officer and corporate policies. Raising any gaps or risks in the service with the Head of IT and ICT management team.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Enhancement, performance management, and general management of the ICT Business Continuity, Risk & Compliance services

• Manage cyber security performance and resolve issues and associated errors

• Advise and guide in the planning phases of projects to ensure that ICT Business Continuity, Risk & Compliance requirements are considered in the overall specification

• Develop solutions and maintain overall cyber security & compliance performance

• Take personal responsibility for own health and safety and promote compliance ensuring a safe working environment

• Monitor and take action to ensure performance of Service meets objectives, targets and quality standards

• Develop relationships with technical and support staff to ensure systems and information requirements are specified and delivered

• Actively participate in Service Improvement events

• Mentor other team members to promote knowledge sharing and skills transfer

• Ensure the service meets objectives, targets and quality standards

• Support and contribute to service improvement activities and initiatives

• Support colleagues to achieve Service objectives
